Our Central Education Team
Our MAT has prioritised the formation of a Central Education Team, who provide our schools with support and expertise in Teaching and Learning, Professional Learning, Data and Assessment, Inclusion and Safeguarding.
Gabi absolutely loves her role as the School Improvement Lead for the Areté Learning Trust, where she has supports Headteachers and Senior Leaders across all our Trust schools to strive for excellence in their quality of educational provision.
She started her career as an English teacher, then became Head of English and Assistant Headteacher: T&L within the Greenshaw Learning Trust, before joining the Ryedale Learning Trust as a Senior Leader and School Improvement Lead. Gabi is a former British athlete, currently plays competitive tennis and is set to complete her first Hyrox race in early 2025. It is with this level of drive, determination and passion that she approaches every aspect of her life, her energy translating to relentlessly striving to provide the best education possible for every child within out Trust and beyond.

Carolyn is delighted to be the Areté Learning Trust Safeguarding Lead. She has over 20 years’ experience within education and for the past 13 years has been involved within Inclusion and Safeguarding at both a school and Trust level.
At the heart of Carolyn’s educational philosophy is the belief that safeguarding is a shared responsibility that involves collaboration among educators, families, and the wider community. She believes in a proactive approach to safeguarding and recognises the importance of early intervention and open communication. Carolyn is looking forward to working with colleagues across all schools within the Trust to further enhance their Safeguarding practice building on the great practice which is already in place.

Craig is delighted to be a part of the Areté Learning Trust as the Data & Insight Lead. He will be working closely with key stakeholders to establish consistent data practices across the schools and lead on the development of Trust dashboards and systems.
Craig has over a decade of experience in data analysis and management within education. Following an apprenticeship with the local authority, Craig’s career in the education sector began at Ossett Academy as a Data & Cover Officer. More recently, he held the position of Data Team Leader at Minsthorpe Community College in West Yorkshire.
Having recently relocated to North Yorkshire, Craig is looking forward to his first experience working as part of a central Trust team. His aim is to provide leaders and trustees with accessible insights, enabling informed decision making that will support our students to be the best they can be.

Kath's work focuses on the development of inclusive practice - supporting the evolution of capacity and legacy - within the Areté Learning Trust. As co-founder of YES@ Areté Learning Trust she is able, as part of a specialist team, to provide inclusive support to schools and settings within and outside the trust through high quality training, strategic planning and case work.
Kath's three decades in education started with a role as a Primary class teacher, but her professional and personal interest in SEND and Inclusion developed and she became part of North Yorkshire's Learning Support team before leading Richmond School's Enhanced Mainstream Provision for Cognition and Learning.
Kath is enthusiastic about the power of education and the importance of community in its broadest sense. Her key principles are:

-Strategic planning being informed by insightful case work
-Our relationship with, and position in, the local community supports our work
